Story
Hi there,
As you may or may not know, my nearly 6 year old son, Will, is profoundly deaf and has autism (with a few other things thrown in to complicate matters!). Although he was implanted with cochlears at 18 months, he is unable to speak due to his other diagnoses. We have struggled over the years to find places which can accomodate his many special needs, whether it be behavioural, physical, emotional; however, have been incredibly fortunate to have discovered and been welcomed into the St Gabriel's community. Will has started there this year in Kindergarten and it has opened up his world. Thanks to St Gabriel's and its staff, he is thriving.
Unfortunately, the school receives very little funding from the Government. So, for the amazing work that they do for Will and the other children there (it is a school of completely special needs children who have an additional intellectual disability), between that and what the parents pay there is a shortfall that can only be made up by fundraising. It is for that reason (and definitely not for my running prowess) that I have entered their major fundraising event of the year, the Coleman Greig GWS Executive Challenge. It is a running and cycling event held at Parramatta Park on 24th October (this Friday) for businesses across Western Sydney.
I'm running in the St Gabriel's team with staff and other parents to show our appreciation and raise some money.
Through this website you can easily support my efforts by making a secure donation. I would also really appreciate it if you could share my page above or comment below so more people know about it.

Thanks so much for your support for the run, and over the years, for all of us!

St Gabriel's School and Northcott Split Charity Account
All donations are being split equally to the following organisations:
St Gabriel's School
St Gabriel's is a co-educational primary school catering for children with hearing impairment and other special needs such as intellectual disability in the mild to moderate range and autism.
Northcott
Northcott is a leading service provider in NSW and the ACT, providing services and support for people with disabilities and their families and carers. We are an independent, not-for-profit organisation that receives some government funding. We rely on the generosity of individuals, organisations and community groups to continue to provide services, particularly where no government funding or limited support is available. For over 80 years, we have supported children, young people and adults with disabilities to develop life skills, build confidence and become active participants in their communities. Today, we help more than 13,000 people, including many families and carers, driven by our purpose to build an inclusive society where people can live the life they choose.
